About Colorado Clouds

15+ years of Colorado skies, photographed and openly shared.

Colorado Clouds began as a simple weather-and-sky blog — a place to post the cumulus, stratus, cirrus, sunrises, sunsets, and storms that roll across the Front Range. Over the years it grew into a deep, openly licensed reference library of real-world clouds, used by artists, studios, and researchers around the world.

The photographs are by Kevin Udy, based in Colorado. The whole catalog is offered under Creative Commons (license details), and commercial licenses are available for studios and brands — the images have been used by Walt Disney Animation, Nike / Air Jordan, Hyundai, and others (notable credits).
